Calahonda

Calahonda is where we are based, so it is where we know the pipework best. Around 6,000 homes across more than 140 sub-communities (Sitio de Calahonda, Calypso, Jardines de Calahonda, Miraflores, Doña Lola, Crown Resort Club), self-managed by their own community since 1963. Mostly British, Scandinavian and German owners, and apartment-led rather than villas.

What is different about working here

The water here is hard. Not slightly: hard enough that an electric immersion element can fur up solid in five years, and a thermostatic shower cartridge seizes long before it wears out. If your hot water has been getting slower to heat and your shower has been drifting hot and cold, that is the water, not the appliance.

What we get called to

Blocked drains, emergency callouts, boilers, toilets and showers. Calahonda is where we are based, so it is the fastest response of anywhere we cover.

Straightforward, most of it. The awkward ones are jobs that were half-fixed already: a drain rodded and never flow-tested, a cartridge swapped without clearing the scale behind it. In a community block it is worse, because the half-fix often belongs to whoever came before the last administrator.

Places we know

Sitio de Calahonda, Calypso, Jardines de Calahonda, Miraflores, Doña Lola, Crown Resort Club, Los Cipreses shopping, El Campanario, La Siesta Golf, Del Sol Tennis, Playa El Bombo, Cabo Rocoso, Parque España, the Mijas coastal path.

Calahonda is where the van lives, so it is the shortest run of anywhere we cover. If a part is needed we are back from the supplier inside half an hour.

When the problem is not yours

Calahonda is around 140 separate communities, each self-managed by its own EUC since 1963. That matters more than it sounds. If your kitchen sink backs up, the blockage may be in the stack that serves four flats, and the stack belongs to the community, not to you.

We work in these buildings constantly, so we know the difference. If it is yours, we fix it and you pay us. If it is communal, we tell you before we start, because the last thing you need is a plumber who opens a wall and then hands you an invoice the administrator will not accept.

What that means in practice: send a photo of where the water is coming from, and tell us whether your neighbours have the same problem. Both answers change who pays and how fast it can be sorted.

Getting us out

Send the job through the form and Dave or Rob picks it up. In Calahonda a photo of the trap often settles it before we leave the yard, so we arrive with the right part rather than coming to look at it.
